One of the few e-mail newsletters I actually read(!) is Jan Phillips' Museletter.
I just had a chance to read April's issue and I really enjoyed it. In it she talks about her 86-year-old mother is having huge life changes due to the Oprah & Eckhart Tolle collaboration. This is a perfect example of how life-changing it can be when mainstream media embraces a more healing and transformational path. It looks like you cannot read the April issue online, so I will excerpt here:
As a result, two significant things have occurred. One, she realized that holding onto negative feelings and putting them out into the world is damaging to her own well-being and the well-being of others. "All that resentment I had about so-and-so, I'm giving it up," she said. "If I ever start talking about that stuff again, stop me. I'm not going to be negative anymore." Suddenly her health seems to improve. She has more energy. Next thing she calls me to tell me she's writing a new book now - a history about our family reunions. She's inviting everyone to submit stories, so she's on the phone having conversations with relatives all over the country. She's blossoming like the petunias in my windowbox.
This story reminds me so much of when my Grandmother's companion, Rita, started watching Dr. Phil on Oprah and had a similar transformation in her outlook on life. She started to understand, for the first time in her life, that others may not see the world as she does and that is okay.
People may have their beefs with Oprah, but she is bringing some real positive healing to the world!
